In the last few days, I have added several links to the web resources with tips and tutorials on CSS. The web resources are there to help direct you to the proper resources for topics covered in class.
One of the better resources is http://www.addedbytes.com/cheat-sheets/css-cheat-sheet/. This site has a printable CSS cheatsheet.
NACTE (Nevada Association of Career & Technical Education) is sponsoring their 2nd annual logo competition. The winning logo will win $100 from NACTE.

Some of you have been asking about lecture notes no longer being posted on the daily calendar. In an effort to get you to utilize the class wiki to add more concrete details to my lectures, I have moved notes and lecture topics to the class wiki. If you missed some notes, that is where you should be getting them from.

The first quarter is now officially over. It wasn’t the smoothest quarter that I have ever had with the technology issues that we had, but it was a great first quarter. The second quarter is going to bring new challenges and projects for all of the classes.
Computer Graphics: InDesign projects are finished this week before beginning in Illustrator next week
3D Animation I: Finishing Photoshop in November and starting Flash right before Thanksgiving Break
Digital Game: Finishing Alice projects in mid-November and starting Flash games before Thanksgiving Break
Website Science: Finish teacher websites by mid-November, CSS starts this week, personal and program websites finished before Winter Break
It is nearing the end of the quarter and some of you have been asking about extra credit. If you make a significant wiki contribution to the topics on Alice, Photoshop, InDesign, HTML, or any of the vocabulary pages, extra credit will be added to your project grades. Make sure you follow the guidelines in the grading rubric on the front page of the class wiki. All submissions are subject to verification through turnitin.com.
To receive this extra credit, entries must be completed by October 25th.
For Computer Graphics and 3D Animation and Graphics I Students:
The CTE Department is in need of a logo for their CTE Conference on January 15, 2010. The theme of this event is academic integration. The title is “Career & Technical Education: It’s Academic.” This logo will be used on the program, signs, and all correspondence associated with this event. The members of the winning team will each receive a digital camera.

Nevada SkillsUSA is having a contest to design a pin for their state conference. SkillsUSA in a career technical student organization that SWCTA has on campus including the areas of web design and video game design. If you are interested in competing in this contest, please see Mr. Statucki.
